Gun control remains a heated debate both with the American people and politicians, but conservative Vince Vaughn already knows where he stands on it - and unlike most of his Hollywood mates, he’s not afraid to go on the record with it.

Speaking with the British GQ, the actor says that guns should be allowed in all American schools because that’s the only way the wave of violent attacks / mass shootings of innocent children can be stopped. Banning guns from schools is as efficient in this regard as banning forks in the ongoing effort to stop the obesity pandemic.

Vince Vaughn says people should have “a gun in public, full stop”

Celebrities usually refrain from discussing in the press political and social issues with considerable weight, if they’re promoting a movie when they come up. Most press tours are light in tone, with actors and actresses juggling with a few well-rehearsed anecdotes in interviews, stories that deliver a good soundbite and would thus generate more attention for the film.

Vaughn isn’t like that, as his latest interview makes it clear: if you ask him a question on how he feels about gun control, he will answer it and answer it properly.

So, since GQ asked, he says that he believes all Americans should wear a gun in public, “full stop.” It’s their constitutional right to do so. It’s the only way in which they can stand up to their corrupt and controlling government, in addition to being the only way in which they can effectively save a life (whether their own or someone else’s).

“It's well known that the greatest defense against an intruder is the sound of a gun hammer being pulled back,” Vaughn says.

“All these gun shootings that have gone down in America since 1950, only one or maybe two have happened in non-gun-free zones. Take mass shootings. They've only happened in places that don't allow guns. These people are sick in the head and are going to kill innocent people. They are looking to slaughter defenseless human beings. They do not want confrontation. In all of our schools it is illegal to have guns on campus, so again and again these guys go and shoot up these [expletive]-ing schools because they know there are no guns there. They are monsters killing six-year-olds.”

Politicians send their kids to schools protected by armed guards

These monsters will be stopped by armed guards at the schools they want to attack, assuming they would even dare to strike there knowing this.

Politicians arguing that gun control regulation is necessary and saying that school guards should not be armed are just hypocrites, the actor continues. Their kids go to schools where they’re protected by armed guards, so where’s the fairness in that? Why deny the rest of the country what they already have?

Banning guns is unconstitutional and inefficient in the race to bring down criminality, he argues. The same goes for “taking away” the drugs and the alcohol. It’s like banning forks when you’re trying to stop people from gaining more weight.
