BET Networks and One Race Productions will join forces for a new animated series centering on the apprenticeship and life of one of the most famous military generals in history, Hannibal of Carthage. The network has already ordered six episodes, scheduled to air primetime in the fall of 2007.

The half-hour episodes will retell the story of Hannibal, starting from his tutelage as a military man under his father, the King of Carthage, to his daring invasions of Spain and England.

The BET President of Entertainment, Reginald Hudlin said about the upcoming project: 'From my first week at BET, I had been pursuing the project. Vin Diesel brings great thought and passion to both character development and storylines, and we are pleased to be the first in the animation production business with Vin and One Race Production. "Hannibal" will be epic storytelling'.

The actor showed himself very enthusiastic about the animated series, which he called 'groundbreaking'. He also considers himself very fortunate to have been given the opportunity of voicing one of the greatest men in the history of mankind, together with his classic story of fighting for freedom.
