Vin Diesel is one of the many celebrities to do the Ice Bucket Challenge, which is raising awareness of ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or Lou Gehrig’s disease) and donations for the ALS Association, in the hope of finding a cure for the disease. Playing by the rules, he nominated 3 other people to do it next – and might have just made the best pick out there.

Embedded below is the Instagram video that proves that the actor did the challenge – like a boss, might I add, because he used a bucket filled with just ice, no water. This is here is for all those celebrities out there who use just water that they pretend is very cold, hoping we won’t be able to tell the difference.

The concept of the Challenge is that, once you’re nominated, you have 24 hours to choose: either donate money to the Association or douse yourself with a bucket of ice water. Most celebrities have chosen the latter, while making sure to urge others to donate.

Once the Challenge is completed, you nominate 3 or 4 other people who, in turn, have 24 hours to respond.

Diesel’s nominations were the US First Lady Michelle Obama, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie. The ball is in their court, as they say. However, of the three, perhaps only Mrs. Obama will take the Challenge: Angelina Jolie isn’t much on social media, so she might not even be aware of the Challenge and, even if she were, she would choose to just donate money.

Putin, on the other hand, assuming that he does find out he was nominated, will probably not care enough to get involved. Still, it was admirable effort on Vin’s part.
