Just in time for the 2011 Computex tradeshow, ViewSonic has just announced the availability of its ViewPad 4 tablet and V350 dual-mode smartphone in Taiwan

While the ViewPad 4 Android tablet can be purchased for NT $14,900 (about $518), the V350 smartphone can be bought for only NT $9,900 (about $345).

With the launch of the ViewPad 4 and V350, ViewSonic aims to take up a 4% share in the local smartphone market within six months,” said Alan Chang, president of ViewSonic Asia Pacific.

According to Chang, ViewSonic aims to sell at least 80,000 tablet PCs and smartphones in 2011 in the local market, as sales of smartphones in the Taiwan market are expected to top two million units in 2011 compared to 1.7-1.8 million units sold in 2010.

The company recently revealed plans to launch a 7-inch Honeycomb tablet at the Computex tradeshow held in Taipei at the end of the month, in an attempt to strengthen its presence on the market.

ViewSonic has previously released one of its top tablets on the local market, the ViewPad 7, which sold in more than 20,000 units since its launch in December 2010.

ViewSonic V350 is a dual SIM smartphone powered by Android 2.2 Froyo. The HSDPA-enabled device is equipped with a 600 MHz Qualcomm MSM 7227 processor and features a bar form factor.

It packs 512 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM, as well as microSD card for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

ViewPad 4 is powered by the same Android 2.2 mobile platform, but unlike the V350 smartphone, this one is equipped with a powerful 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor.

The tablet comes with a 4.1-inch capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

Both devices are available for purchase in Taiwan starting this week.
