ViewSonic continues the “GO LED. GO GREEN” initiative it started some time ago and that we reported here, once the VX2703mh was launched. The company is launching two monitors and touts high value for the money and a low total cost of ownership (TCO).

The two new additions are VA1912m-LED and VA2212m-LED and, like the naming scheme implies, they both feature LED backlighting.

Using LED technology leads to a considerable power consumption reduction and ViewSonic is not modest here and it proudly announces that the new monitors have up to 40% lower power consumption.

The 19” model features a mediocre 1366 by 768 pixel resolution, while the 21.15” has a FullHD display.

The contrast ratio is just 1,000 to 1, but in dynamic mode ViewSonic achieves a 10 million to 1.

There is no information available on pricing yet, but here are the manufacturer’s official specifications pages for the VA1912m-LED and the VA2212m-LED.
