The number of companies that got involved in the high-definition LCDs market is quite high, but this can prove to be a very good thing, as it offers users a wider range of choices, as well as a substantial decrease in prices. And a very good example of this situation is the new 35 series of LCD displays from ViewSonic, which provide users with relatively high display sizes and advanced video technologies, while keeping the price tags under 900 US dollars.
The new 35
Series includes 3 models: the 26-inch N2635w, 32-inch N3235w and 37-inch N3735w. All of the three models provide 1366x768 native HD resolutions, a typical brightness level of 500 nits, fast 8ms LCD panel response times and precision video processing via ViewSonic's Advanced ClearPicture electronics. The N3235w and N3735w feature a 1200:1 contrast ratio, while the N2635w offers an 800:1 ratio.
All the models in the 35 Series feature ATSC/NTSC tuners and are equipped with a wide range of digital and analog input connections, including HDMI with HDCP compatibility, DVI, S-Video, composite and component video. Moreover, all the three TVs feature a 2D comb filter with motion adaptive de-interlacing, and are also equipped with SPDIF audio outputs, as well as integrated 20-watt Dolby stereo speakers.
"With ViewSonic's 20 years of display expertise, our LCD TV portfolio combines superior HD performance, style and unmatched value bringing an enhanced viewing experience to any room," said Jeff Volpe, vice president of marketing, ViewSonic Americas. "Consumers are sure to enjoy the quality and impressive performance of these LCD TVs as they enjoy summer-time viewing of HD sports, movies and their favorite summer TV series."
The three models in the series will have estimated retail prices of $599, $699 and $899 (respectively), which could actually be considered somewhat of a bargain, considering what they have to offer.
