It's all thanks to the SuperClear Pro technology that delivers 8-bit color capability

Most monitors and TVs have a contrast ratio of 1,000:1, no matter what the Dynamic Contrast Ratio (DCR) is, as well as a brightness of 200-250 cd/m2, plus a response time of 5 ms on average.

The one that ViewSonic has just released, called VX2858Sml, is superior in all those regards, except the response time which is of 6 ms. Fortunately, since this is meant as a work/professional screen instead of a gaming one, that's not a big issue.

Most of the visual advantages the ViewSonic VX2858Sml possesses are owed to the SuperClear Pro technology, which delivers true 8-bit color capability.

Thus, the new monitor has a static contrast ratio of 3,000:1, and a dynamic contrast ratio of 50,000,000:1 (Dynamic Mega Contrast as it is otherwise known at such levels). The White-light LED backlight also helps.

Moreover, the newcomer boasts 176º horizontal, 176º vertical viewing angles (IPS display technology deserves the praise here) and a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

That said, the screen has a diagonal of 28 inches, dual HDMI and VGA inputs, and MHL support (mobile high-definition link, for displaying phone content).

Other assets include Flicker-Free Technology (less eye fatigue), Blue Light Filter (less eye strain), and ViewMode settings ("Text," "Game," "Movie," "Web," and "Mono" color mixtures). No price yet though, sadly.
