Dell isn't the only company launching displays these days, as ViewSonic also completed a pair, one that is almost ready to start shipping in both the Northern and Southern Americas.
Users may or may not have learned that Dell just
updated its collection of ultrathin monitors.
It so happens that the company is not the only one with something like this in the pipeline, though one might say no one ever is.
ViewSonic is, as always, also working on newer displays, since that it what it exist for.
The items it prepared are two in number and share much of their spec sheets, though they, naturally, have some differences to justify the price gap.
The VP2765-LED is aimed at professionals and has a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (Full HD), plus a DCR (dynamic contrast ratio) of 20,000,000:1 and a brightness of 300 cd/m2.
What's more, ViewSonic gave it an advanced MVA (AMVA) panel, LED backlighting (obviously), D-Sub, DVI, DisplayPort and an ultrathin bezel, plus a stand with 90-degree pivot, height, tilt and swivel functionality. A built-in 4-port USB hub exists as well.
Meanwhile, the VG2732m-LED shares most of the above features, except for the AMVA screen and the response time (3 ms instead of 5 ms), although it has its own perk (integrated speakers).
"The monitors are the most comprehensive choice for the professional user," said Erik Willey, LCD monitor and PC product marketing manager, ViewSonic.
"The VP2765-LED's 1080p wide viewing angles, AMVA panel technology and wide range of connectivity options make it ideal for professionals in image-rich industries. The VG2732m-LED is ideal for those in need of a multi-functional energy efficient display solution, with its Energy Star® and EPEAT Silver certifications."
The VP2765-LED will sell for $459, while the VG2732m-LED is priced at $429. Both have three-year limited warranties.
