Realwire has just announced that award-winning mapping and navigation app ViewRanger is now available for Amazon’s popular Kindle Fire tablets. The app has arrived from the Amazon Appstore UK and can be downloaded from there.

ViewRanger is free to download and will help outdoor adventurers come up, plan and navigate and share their adventures in nature. Once the app is downloaded, you will be able to have access to a range of mapping products such as OpenStreetMap, OpenCycleMap and Bling Ariel imagery.

Users can download the maps on their Kindle devices and consult them later, when they are offline, perhaps.

Another important feat of the app is that it offers a complex and extensive trail guide library, which covers thousands of possible routs taken from authorized travel publishers and experts. The routes come completed with descriptions, indications, photos and are marked by difficulty levels.

The ViewRanger app is also a handy thing to have to avoid getting lost on routes you haven’t tried before. So if you’re the outdoorsy type and a Kindle-owner, head on over to the Amazon Appstore and download the app.
