ViewPad 7, the 7-inch tablet PC that ViewSonic announced several weeks ago with Google's Android operating system on board, is now available for pre-order on Amazon.

The slate was announced officially a while ago with the Android 2.2 Froyo OS on board, and is only one of the tablet PCs that the maker plans on bringing to shelves running under the platform.

Those of you interested in the purchase of this tablet PC are now able to head over to Amazon here, to place an order for it, while having to get no less than $599.00 out of their pockets.

It should be noted that ViewSonic priced the device similarly with the Samsung Galaxy Tab, another 7-inch tablet PC running under Google's Android 2.2 operating system.

ViewPad 7's toucshcreen display boasts a 800 x 480 pixels resolution, while hiding a 600MHz ARM application processor beneath.

While this slate might be seen as less powerful than the Galaxy Tab, we should note that it comes with a series of features that were not included with Samsung's product, including the possibility to make voice calls.

The specifications list of this device also includes 512MB of internal memory, complemented by a microSDHC memory card slot for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

On the back, the slate sports a 3-Megapixel photo snapper with auto focus, complemented by a front-facing 0.3MP camera for video calling.

The 7'' Android tablet PC also comes to the market with a built-in GPS receiver, fro navigation features, and with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities.

Not to mention that it comes with support for various Google Mobile Services, including Search, Gmail, Maps, YouTube and more.

At the same time, the slate packs a series of applications right from the start, while offering access to thousands more via the Android Market.
