The folks over at VideoLAN are still trying to get their VLC for Windows 8 up on Windows Store and after several delays, they have recently confirmed that the application is pending Microsoft’s approval.

Apart from working on a Windows 8 version of VLC, VideoLAN also plans to release a stable version for Android devices. The application has been in beta for quite some time, but has not received any updates since last year.

However, things are about to change, as developers have just released a screenshot taken from the new VLC application for Android devices.

They have also confirmed that the application will be completely redesigned, though we’re not sure how long that will take and when exactly Android users will receive a new update for VLC. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
