14 DAY TRIAL // Rihanna and her mostly-female pose descended on the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, this weekend for the 2015 edition of the Coachella Music Festival. In between attending live shows and getting her dance on, she may have or may have not snorted some cocaine as well - and gotten busted on camera whilst doing it.
An Instagram video of Rihanna and her girlfriends back in her room is making the rounds right now. It’s getting plenty of attention because people believe it shows the Barbadian pop star in the process of snorting cocaine.
Rihanna loves to party, might also be doing coke
You can see the video in question in the first Instagram post available below. In reality, you never actually see Rihanna snort the drug in question or a substance even remotely similar to it, but she’s holding something white and long in her hand, which could be (or not) a tube used for snorting the drug.
The fact that she seems to be telling whoever is holding the phone to not include her in the video, and that she’s seen holding her nose towards the end of the clip is enough “proof” of her drug use for many commenters.
As it happens, Rihanna also uploaded a video from the party in question, which you can also find below. It’s from a different angle and she’s making no effort in hiding the white object in her hand.
The photo from the third Instagram post is her response to the cocaine allegation: she does love Coke, but not of the kind you’d imagine, so don’t believe everything you read online. She captioned this photo with “#petty,” presumably in reference to the rumor that she snorted cocaine at Coachella.
NY Mag’s The Cut says that Rihanna has also been responding to fans freaking out at the possibility that she might be doing heavy drugs, telling them they have no reason to worry: the object in her hand was a blunt she was using to mix weed with regular tobacco.
She doesn’t do cocaine and anyone suggesting otherwise is full of it.
Unapologetic
Come to think of it, Rihanna would probably not lie to her fans. Unlike most current pop stars, she’s at a stage in her career when she can afford to be herself without a filter and whatever she’s selling, be it a perfume or clothes or music, would still go like hot cakes.
Rihanna is often blunt in her interactions with her fans or her haters, and she makes no secret of her regular marijuana use, or of her smoking or drinking.
If she were doing heavier stuff like cocaine, she would take greater precautions in not being caught. And if she did get caught, she’d probably admit it because she’s really that unapologetic about herself.
