No more bubblegum pop, but the track is still pretty ridiculous

For all those of you who have forgotten that, back in 2006, Paris Hilton had a brief moment of chart glory with her debut single “The Stars Are Blind,” here's something to refresh your memory.

After having worked for a while on a sophomore album, Paris Hilton is back with a new song and a new video to accompany it.

If you thought “Stars” was silly, just wait until you see this, because, in this new “song,” Paris doesn't even bother to sing: she just recites the words in that fake babydoll whisper of hers.

Set to the beat of the electronic duo Manufactured Beats, “Drunk Text” could probably be described as the interior monologue of a modern clubgoer.

In execution, though, it comes across as very pretentious, uptight and rather ridiculous, even though, we will admit, the melody itself is a certified club banger.
