The full, official video for Adam Lambert’s second single off the “For Your Entertainment” album, “Whataya Want from Me,” has leaked on the Internet a few hours ahead of its release on MTV and VH1. The singer himself confirmed the leak on his Twitter page, though he expressed no hard feelings for it, saying only that the video is watermarked, as AceShowbiz can confirm.

“So it leaked. Oh well :) big old watermark in middle of frame though. Will be on VH1, MTV etc tomorrow and on my website on Monday. :),” Adam tweeted shortly after the video had made its way on the Internet. MTV, though, was quick to make up for the mishap and uploaded the official version without the watermark, while watermark copies are being yanked off YouTube at incredible speed – which is not to say though that they’re all gone.

The video, as we were also telling you a few days ago, also stays true to the lyrics of the song, and shows off a more human side of Adam, which comes across as more genuine and endearing once it’s put in sharp contrast with his rock n’ roll persona. Adam is having problems in his personal life, not knowing exactly what his partner (who could be any one of us, since the “dialog” takes place only between him and the camera) wants from him.

Most of the video is shot in a very stylish and minimally decorated apartment, which allows for the entire focus to fall on the singer. The contrast between who he is in his everyday life and who he is an artist is achieved through, what else, heavy makeup and lots of glitter and sparkle. In the end, though, the theme of the “crumbling relationship” is revealed to be nothing but the artist’s search for meaning and direction when he’s being pulled at in all directions. Reconciliation and compromise are the only viable solution: Adam as the artist concedes something, we as audience concede something else and we meet halfway, as the ending of the video also shows.
