And it's not the only one...

Reuters posts this article which I found pretty hard to understand without viewing the advert itself, saying that a certain television advertisement for the Xbox 360 system from Microsoft must and will be pulled, after being criticized for "glamorizing street car racing". The Advertising Standards Agency stated that the advertisement, featuring a driver weaving in and out of traffic, being chased through a busy city centre, "could be seen to condone dangerous driving." Well, I'm not going to say that it kills the 360 right there on the spot but it's certainly a bad thing for the company, as the Agency also said that they've worked closely with the Broadcast Advertising Clearance Centre, taking its advice to run the advertisement after 9 p.m.

After 9pm isn't so bad... What am I saying here? It's murder. I'm so upset by the fact that I couldn't see it (not finding it on YouTube and all), I'm sure it's not that bad. But just as I was browsing the adverts that were available in regards to Microsoft's gaming system, I stumbled upon the one bellow, which I encourage you to view and laugh your lungs out. Well, it's not that funny really, but it's the work of a genius, obviously. You want to know something? That one was banned too!!!, or so says its title. WTF!?

Anyway, the car chase thing, I get: dangerous driving (probably the guy actually has some supernatural driving skills), the busy city centre (the most likely place to cause an accident), so yeah...we get that someone might actually be stupid enough as to try it in their spare time. But come on, banning an advert with people faking a gun battle, not holding actual guns in their hands, but just shaping their hands into looking like fire arms is ridiculous. We used to do that all the time when we were kids and look, we're still alive. How could this commercial possibly influence someone negatively? Has humanity reached that big of a stupidity level? The actors even mime the sounds, for crying out loud, which is absolutely hilarious. Am I alone on this...? Jeez!
