What is it with couple and elevators these days? After the big drama between Beyonce's sister Solange and her husband Jay Z in a New York Hotel elevator that brought on so much divorce speculation, today we have video of an NFL player knocking his wife-to-be out cold in a Atlantic City Hotel elevator.

The video was obtained by TMZ and it shows Ray Rice basically leveling his fiancée with a single punch. The woman goes down in a second and then simply lies there on the ground, unconscious. The events are said to have taken place on February 15 this year, at the Revel Hotel and Casino in Atlantic city.

Video shows how Ray levels his wife with only one punch

An investigation into the matter showed that Ray and his wife Janay Palmer got into a heated argument that quickly degenerated into a violent fight which left Janay unconscious.

The video shows Janay stepping towards Ray Rice in a fit of anger and he simply takes a knockout blow to the side of her face which slams her head on the elevator's railing, leaving her out cold. The blow was so quick that it showed up as a blur on the security footage.

Ray didn't seem too phased by the attack, and when the doors on the elevator open, he simply drags his unconscious wife by the feet out into the lobby like it's the most natural thing in the world.

The hotel has since shut down, but a former employee claims that the NFL somehow found out about the footage, and after viewing it, issued the player with a two-game suspension.

Ray's fiancée still married him one month after the attack

The most amazing thing about this couple is not the attack, but the fact that both of them managed to get over this thing and eventually got married one month after the attack took place.

This attack has made headlines around America and it has divided the public into two factions: one claiming that Ray is to blame for the assault, and another claiming that Janay holds equal part of the blame since she went out and married the football player one month after the attack.

Most of the people lamenting about Rice's attack are saying that the player should have gotten a much bigger suspension from the NFL and that the 2-game suspension he got was just a slap on the wrist for him. More people are calling out the NFL to provide harsher punishments for players involved in domestic violence.
