
The first music television program ever still strands by its policy of defending the music video industry. When claims came that they (the MTV people) practically contributed to the death of the radio star, they hit back immediately.
Mardi Caught, vice president of talent and music for MTV UK and Ireland said in a statement issued yesterday:
'25 years from the birth of MTV, we can say that, contrary to all fears at the time, video definitely did not kill the radio star. In fact, video has helped make music stars more vibrant, creative and impactful'.

And, to demonstrate his point he released the latest poll, done with the help of more than 10,000 viewers. The first position is occupied by Madonna's 1989 controversial 'Like A Prayer', voted exclusively as the most outbreaking video in history.
Among other stars that broke the rules with their music clips are also Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, Robbie Williams and Spice Girls.
