Try it now, if you're on Windows

Google has just released Google Earth 4.2 (I'm sure you heard of it since it comes with Sky in Google Earth - an exciting feature) and the users already discovered unmentioned features that can simply amaze you. For example, the Google Earth Blog posted an interesting feature that was not presented by the Mountain View company and which is able to bring a new perspective over the Google Earth content. According to the reports, you're now able to embed YouTube videos in Google's downloadable mapping tool and include them in the placemark description. "You can now embed YouTube videos in placemark descriptions! Just copy the embed string from a YouTube video and paste it into your placemark description (just like you would for a blog)," the Google Earth Blog wrote.

Sadly, I'm not able to test this unmentioned feature as it doesn't work on the Mac flavor of Google Earth. The folks from the Google Earth Blog wrote the YouTube clips can be embedded only in the Windows version of Google Earth so the Linux edition is not supported by the application.

This is not the first time when the Mountain View company quietly releases some Google Earth related utilities because it also did the same in the past, for example, when the search giant released Google Earth 4.1 beta, a special version of the application that brought support for Google Maps.

This latest release of Google Earth is even more attractive because it introduced Sky in Google Earth, a revolutionary function that enables the consumers to view the galaxy and the stars straight from their desktop. At this time, there are several similar solutions available but the Google downloadable tool is continuously kept in the spotlights as the parent company bundles revolutionary features every once in a while.

As usual, you can download the latest version of Google Earth straight from Softpedia.
