The people at SmartPhone Medic have put together an informative video featuring parts from the next-generation iPhone placed side by side with components from a current-generation model.

The footage, embedded above, shows the black and the white glass panels (presumably the only two color models available for the iPhone 5, keeping with tradition), an 8-pin dock connector flex cable assembly, and two other flex cables holding sensors, microphones, and stuff like that.

The iPhone 5 is slated for September, according to most reports discussing Apple’s plans for this fall’s hardware refresh. The ceremonious unveiling of the handset should occur on September 12, pundits say, with the phone becoming available around September 21. An iPad mini sporting the same redesigned dock connector is expected to launch simultaneously, or soon thereafter.
