You probably haven’t thought of pinhole cameras since you were going to summer camp and the teachers there were trying to make you do something creative.

Well, it appears that these little objects are making a comeback thanks to this super fun Kickstarter project that will bring back all the good memories to you.

Viddy is the world’s cutest DIY medium format pinhole camera, or at least that’s what the creators of the device are calling it.

To assemble your own camera, you will need the Viddy kit, which is made up of screen-printed and die-cut by hand pieces. It is available in four different colors, including Green, Black, Blue, and Red.

The kit provides you with all the tools needed to assemble the camera, which supports both medium format and 35mm film. With the package you get a reclaimed medium format spool, precision laser-cut pinhole, red light-proof window, split pins, a sticker sheet, plus the instruction list.

Some of you might not be familiar with the term pinhole camera. Well, this is a simple shooting device that uses one small aperture called pinhole instead of a lens.

As light enters the interior of the camera through a hole, the image is exposed on the film, which is loaded inside the camera. Due to the aperture being much smaller, the exposure times with a pinhole camera are a lot longer.

Anyway, Viddy is currently trying to gather funds in order to reach £18,000 / $30,000 / $22,722 goal. If you’re from the UK, an early pledge will cost you £30 / $51 / €38, but you’ll have to pay an extra £12 / $20 / €15 if you live somewhere else.
