Each year, the Angels come down on earth for a fashion show like no other, with the Victoria's Secret fashion show. Also annually, people wonder whether the models aren't too skinny – and this year is no different.The Victoria's Secret fashion show was taped earlier on but aired on TV only the other night. While everybody kept their eyes glued on the screen, questions started to pop about the girls' weight.
Models, by definition, are supposed to be thin. The VS Angels, though, have always been a different kind of model, in that they're tall and slender, but also have curves and muscle to them.
This year, it seems they're more like catwalk models than ever before,
E! Online points out.
“While you were drooling in front of your television sets, we had to wonder if some of those angels were drooling for a cheeseburger. Seriously,” the celebrity e-zine writes.
“This
isn't exactly new news. Back in April, Candice Swanepoel and her thin frame made headlines when we learned that her contract with the lingerie company was in jeopardy due to her dramatic weight loss (which she later commented on),” the same media outlet further says.
Perhaps the Angels wouldn't seem so skinny if there wasn't a good comparison term: the VS models from previous years.
They too were slim and very toned, but they also had curves and weighed visibly more.
“We can't help but remember the days when models like Tyra Banks, Heidi Klum and Gisele Bündchen took over the catwalk with their curves. Don't get us wrong, they still made us question our meal choices, but they were also voluptuous. And now, it seems like the wings on these newbies are literally going to whisk them away,” E! writes.
