An album that Victoria Backham recorded between 2002 and 2003, called 'Open Your Eyes', in true pop style was leaked on the Internet. And the worst thing is that she meant it to be scrapped, because she decided that it was 'useless'.
In a nutshell, Victoria recorded the tracks with Telstar, but she then decided that she wanted to go all hip hop and stuff and told the company that she wanted it scrapped. The songs featured the former posh Spice singing over pop, R'n'B and trance beats, but she wasn't yet sure what direction her music career should take.
An insider told a British tabloid: 'Victoria didn't know what she wanted while manager Simon Fuller and Telstar were clear they wanted dance-influenced pop. She recorded the tracks that have been now leaked, but then met Damon Dash and went off in a hip-hop direction, demanding the album to be binned. She hated these songs and couldn't wait to scrap them'.
Victoria is now furious over the leak and has her lawyers look into the matter to see whether legal action can be pursued against the music company. Meanwhile, she is focusing on a career in fashion and, more recently, television.
