Fashion designer is now the face of the Range Rover brand

Now that she's established herself as a respected fashion designer, Victoria Beckham is turning her attention towards other endeavors that might expand the VB brand. Below is an ad for the latest, a collaboration with Range Rover.

The ad, which plays out more like a music video for Victoria herself, is shot mostly in black and white, and features plenty of shots of the star, while the car is just briefly on camera.

Still, the fact that Posh is also filmed behind the wheel does help with the impression that this is a commercial for a car, a special edition one, no less.

And this is precisely how the Range Rover Evoque aims to be seen: an exclusive car that is as much about Victoria Beckham as it's about the Range Rover tradition.

“Working with Victoria we quickly recognized our similar design tastes and ambition for this car. For example at the first meeting, Victoria herself inspired the use of rose gold. She was wearing dark clothes and no jewelery apart from a rose gold, man’s watch. Elegant: Victoria ensured she was there in person for the special edition launch,” Land Rover Design Director Gerry McGovern said at the launch of the car, the Daily Mail informs.

As such, the car comes with thin, delicate and elegant rose-gold highlights inside and out.

“Working with Victoria the intention was not to change the fundamental architecture and award winning design of the Range Rover Evoque. We wanted to create a Special Edition that extends its character in a new direction through understated, restrained color and detail changes,” McGovern said.

“Both Land Rover and Victoria Beckham are British luxury brands with credibility and global appeal. This dual 'Britishness' makes the collaboration even more exciting especially when considering the huge audience for bespoke products around the world, particularly in China, Russia and Brazil where Land Rover is growing,” he explained.

Because Mrs. Beckham “owns and drives” Range Rover automobiles, McGovern doesn't see the collaboration as a typical celebrity endorsement: it's like friends coming together on a joint project.
