Victoria Beckham fancies herself the ultimate fashionista, a status she has been pursuing for years - to a reasonable amount of success. Mrs. Beckham - who never misses a chance to live up to her feisty Spice Girl nickname of "Posh" - has often been accused of trying too hard to impress the fashion world on both sides of the Atlantic, with her trademark ridiculously high heels, over-the-top costumes and often arrogant air of self-absorbed preoccupation. Her latest endeavor into the sophisticated world of fashion modeling comes across as equally over the top, as can be easily seen from the newly-released promo shots for designer Mac Jacobs, to whom she is said to have served as muse.
In one shot, Victoria can be seen crouching in fetal position, wearing a silk multi-colored maxi-dress, yellow gloves that reach up to her elbows and sucking
her thumb. The other, equally outlandish shot shows Posh wearing different colored gloves and clutching onto a red bag accessorized with a golden frog, which it appears she is about to kiss. If the poor frog were to turn into a real-life prince, Heaven knows what he'd think of the emaciated-looking lady staring back at him - but all of us fashion novices basically have to trust Marc Jacobs and his fashion sense, which doesn't really come as a comfort for anyone.
The previously released Marc Jacobs promo shots (also featuring Posh) give off an equally disturbing feeling. In one of them, Posh can be seen stuffed head-first into an oversize shopping bag, with only her legs visible to the world at large. In the other, she sports a ridiculous haircut and a fringe made up of black feathers, while at the same time rigidly clutching at one of the designer's sought-after bags. The general conclusion would be that Posh and her fashion sense would probably be just fine, provided she didn't try as hard as she's doing now. A little less "look at me, I'm so glamorous" attitude, a nice smile here and there and less tension in her body language would probably do the thick.
