14 DAY TRIAL // Neither former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham nor her husband David Beckham is ever too chit-chatty about their marriage but, in the Christmas edition of Vogue France, which Posh also guest-edited, she gushes about their still very happy marriage and adorable children.
Attached to this article is one of the two covers that will go out in print. The photo shows Victoria and David sharing a passionate moment, as they gaze into each other’s eyes, apparently right before they lock lips in a kiss.
In a brief interview with the magazine, the former singer turned full-time fashion designer admits that she’s still as happy with David (and he with her, of course) as they were on the first day they met. The only difference is that, now, they also have 4 adorable children who make their life even better.
“David and I have been through so much together. We’ve had our ups and downs, but we’re so proud of each other. We’ve always been – and I include the children in this – amazingly happy about the success David has achieved. All those matches where we stood cheering on the terraces,” Victoria says.
She also talks a bit about being asked to guest edit the Christmas issue of the fashion bible, saying it was “an incredible honor” also because she got to work with Emmanuelle Alt.
Ms. Alt has equally warm words of praise to say about Victoria. “We handed over the running of this issue to a woman who, throughout our working together, has proved to be the exact opposite of her public image,” Alt says.
“She is spontaneous with a great sense of humor, humble yet at the same time driven by a healthy ambition. She is a perfectionist, like everyone who is passionate about their work,” she adds.
Her mentioning that Victoria is, in real life, the exact opposite of what you’d expect when you read magazines is hardly surprising, considering that she’s been getting a bad rap for years.
One of the most popular jokes in the blogosphere is actually an explanation for why she doesn’t smile in photos: because she allegedly doesn’t have any teeth. And that’s just the least offensive thing said about Victoria.
