No, relax, we're not starting a modern saga in seven thick volumes about the life and antics of Victoria Adams, aka Posh Spice, aka Victoria Beckham (who apparently also likes to be known as 'VB" lately - and that I'm afraid does sound dreadful). I'm simply mentioning some of the things that have been going on in her life, as it seems she's become one of my favorite characters lately. OK, I confess - it was either her or writing another Britney-Spears-Is-Stupid article. Just kidding - about the article, not the stupid part.
And we're quite happy to report that Victoria is a very supportive wife, who was quick to drop all other engagements and rush to the side of her husband David, who made a moving mercy dash from L.A. to London, where his father had just suffered a heart attack. The recently relocated couple made up of the former and current Spice Girl member and the famous footballer and sex symbol David Beckham may have just been appointed "the world's most overrated couple" but the fact is, the Beckhams are sticking together. In more ways than one.
And even though sometimes we may look at her in a funny way and wonder exactly what she does to deserve all the fame she gets (not to mention wondering what on earth "totally major" means), Victoria put all other engagements on hold and flew to England to be with David and her father in law. Despite the rumors that Posh and David's family have not always been on the best of terms, it's good to see that Vic finally got her priorities right. Don't get me wrong - I consider her to be a great mother and wife - I am talking about her sometimes crazy quest for fame in the US, that recently seemed to keep her busy and sometimes have unexpected - and even ridiculous outcomes. Like the rumor that she is going to join the Pussycat Dolls. Come on, Victoria, you can do much better than that - I hope.
But family, it turns out, is much more important than everything else, even fame - and when unexpected and serious things like this happen, all feuds can be put behind. This is actually good news. Hey, forget Britney - I suddenly feel a lot better.
Yes, well, Victoria flew to the U.K. All the way from Japan, where she was promoting her new line of cosmetics. And despite the tearful and sometimes over-the-top newspaper reports on David's dad, it's good to know that Mr. Beckham senior is doing good and that his family - plus some very good doctors - are looking after him. Gold star for Victoria, who may finally be putting old family feuds behind her, along with her handsome husband. But I do hope they'll be back to the States soon - I miss the excitement of their life on the other side of the Atlantic, even though they're not actually doing much. I'm being mean again. OK - we'll keep you posted. Stay tuned.
