14 DAY TRIAL // Victoria Beckham has always been thin, but it seems her weight has reached a new low, if we’re to judge by pictures surfaced the other day, when she came out sporting what could only be described as a very unflattering outfit. With her ribs protruding through her skin, Posh has again sparked talk that she might be too thin, the Daily Mail says, while The Sun insists she’s just trying to give her image a makeover.
As the Mail puts it, Mrs. Beckham’s weight has constantly oscillated from thin to very thin, while she never stopped denying she was starving herself or had some kind of eating disorder. She was this slim because she was very active and led a rather chaotic life with countless appointments and being under constant pressure to look good, she said on more than one occasion.
“Her busy lifestyle undoubtedly makes it easy to keep the pounds off. But Victoria Beckham looked alarmingly thin pictured near her Los Angeles home at the weekend. The former Spice Girl who has now carved out a successful career as a fashion designer wore a low cut jacket which did little to disguise her slender frame or her ribs which could be seen poking through her skin,” the Mail writes, trying to demonstrate that, if she’s this skinny, she must be unhealthy as well.
However, The Sun says, this is just Victoria no longer attempting to hide her slender frame with push-up bras and carefully designed items. Apparently, she believes that look belongs to the past, when she was best known as a pop star and wife of a famous footballer: now that she’s out to make a reputation for herself as a fashion designer, she needs a change in style. This, it would seem, also includes a bony chest and a plunging neckline to reveal it.
“Victoria has had a complete transformation from the classic footballer’s wife look. She wants to be seen as an astute businesswoman. It’s a radical change from a few years ago when she didn’t mind having the fake tan, big [breasts] and the bling to go with it. That look is all in the past. She wants to put some distance between that and where she is now,” an unnamed source says for the British tabloid.
