Victoria's Secret's Fallen Angel

- Gisele Bundchen is too expensive, some other leggy girl will replace her

By: Elena Gorgan, Entertainment News Editor

Being a model is not easy. Being Gisele Bundchen and lead angel for the lingerie giant Victoria's Secret is even harder. In fact, putting on a pair of feathered wings and walking the catwalk in
bikinis and high heels might seem an almost impossible task to perform, if we were to take into consideration the kind of money the Brazilian model asked as salary for one year: $5 million.

Today, a spokesperson for Victoria's Secret confirmed that Gisele would no longer be the face of the brand, thus putting an end to a very lucrative business partnership. While the statement did not make any reference to the reasons for which Gisele is no longer among the mannequins of the company, rumor has it that she asked for too much money for another one-year contract.

The situation was as follows: Gisele asked for no less than $5 million for another year as a Victoria's model. Leaving aside the fact that the amount is simply preposterous for the kind of work she was supposed to put in, the lingerie company was also aware that any other girl could fill her shoes. And, even more, they even let her know it, as a source told PageSix: 'Her demands were outrageous. She got a new lawyer who was unrealistic. Victoria's Secret doesn't care. They have five new hotter, younger girls debuting next year. And they won't have to deal with any craziness'.

The company confirmed today that, indeed, all contacts between the model and them have been severed. 'The long and fruitful relationship between Gisele Bundchen and Victoria's Secret has reached a conclusion. We wish her all the best and thank her for her extraordinary work. She will continue to be a very visible part of the world's sexiest brand through the remainder of the year.', the press statement said.

This would be like the perfect opportunity for cracking jokes on how models are paid ridiculous amounts of money for simply showing some skin, walking up and down a platform once in a while and smiling at the cameras. I mean, phew!, can you even imagine the stress this kind of job implies? I doubt you do...

That's not Gisele in the picture, but Alessandra Ambrosio.
