Carolina Sepe was ten weeks pregnant when her neighbor shot her in the head in a crazed rage attack over her family. The woman ended up in a coma and doctors had to deliver her premature baby through a cesarean procedure when her vital signals went low.

Back in the summer, on August 25, Carolina's family was witnessing one of the worst massacres ever when their neighbor, Domenico Aschettino, raged inside their house in Lauro to kill Carolina's father, Vincenzo, because of an argument over a car accident.

The crazed murderer killed Vincenzo with a fatal gun wound and as if that wasn't enough, he then turned on the other family members starting by severely wounding Carolina with a gunshot to the head, and then proceeding to her brother and mother and fatally injuring her grandmother.

The pregnant woman's husband escaped through the bathroom door, saving his life and the life of the couple's two-year-old boy. After the incident, the heartbroken man quit his job and moved by the side of his pregnant wife's hospital bed hanging on hope that she would wake up from the coma.

When the doctors noticed that Carolina's vitals were getting too low to maintain the baby alive, they decided to proceed with the cesarean and deliver the infant even if premature. The woman died after giving birth to a baby girl weighting 2.68 pounds (1.1 kilograms), notes Daily Mail.

Local officials, including Mayor Antonio Bossone, declared that they would offer all of their support in order to help the baby girl, named Maria Liliana. They will contribute by helping her grow and by securing a serene future in an attempt to mend the damage done to the family by the crazed murderer.

The horrible massacre happened in the town of Lauro, near Naples, Italy back in the summer of 2013 and the gruesome murderer was apprehended and jailed for his actions. He tried to commit suicide but failed, still being in jail.
