Today, Viber announced the availability of its messaging application for the owners of BlackBerry 10 devices out there, a move that should make many enthusiasts happy.

Previously, the company said that it had decided not to launch the application on BlackBerry 10, though it then reconsidered it, and now the software should be up for grabs through the BlackBerry World.

However, the app does not appear to be live just yet, though chances are that it will need several hours before appearing as available in most countries out there.

As N4BB notes, Viber was already accessible for the owners of legacy BlackBerry handsets, and its availability on BlackBerry 10 is a welcomed one.

“Our BlackBerry 10 app is a beautiful twist on our design,” Viber CEO Talmon Marco reportedly said. He also added that the new software was capable of offering “the most up to date experience for our users.”

Apparently, Viber has decided to release the Viber for BlackBerry 10 application with Viber Out and the Viber Sticker Market packed inside right from the start, thus bringing the mobile client in line with its counterparts on other mobile platforms out there.

The application will also provide users with the usual set of capabilities that any Viber user out there can take advantage of.

This includes the possibility to easily text with friends in one-on-one and group conversations, and the option to make free voice calls, while enjoying HD sound quality.

At the same time, the software comes with support for sharing a variety of content, including photos, videos, voice messages, locations, stickers and emoticons.

Viber for BlackBerry 10 comes with push notifications, which should ensure that users stay on top of their messages and calls, even when Viber is turned off.

Moreover, the mobile client arrives on devices with support for the Viber Desktop application on Windows and Mac, and is available in no less than 34 languages.

As mentioned above, although Viber has already announced the availability of its application for BlackBerry 10 devices, the software does not appear as live in the BlackBerry World yet (the version designed for legacy phones is available there).

Since new apps and updates usually need about 24 hours before making an appearance in all markets where the online store is available, those who would like to download it should check the portal again in a few hours, provided that they don’t see it right away.
