14 DAY TRIAL // Viber, one of the most popular applications that allow users to make and receive free calls, has just received an important update on Windows Phone platform.
The application has been bumped to version 4.0, which is a major upgrade form the previous iteration. Such a major release should come with important new features and developers of the application deliver on this promise.
The latest update brings great enhancements over the previous versions of Viber and allows Windows Phone users to take advantage of the same features already available on other platforms such as iOS and Android.
For example, Viber users on Window Phone will now be able to download many free and paid stickers from the Sticker Market, as well as get more details like when their message has been seen and when their contacts are online.
Developers have also added a new ability that will allow users to hide notification content. Furthermore, Viber notification sounds will now be used for incoming push notifications.
Some under the hood enhancements have been included in the update as well, such as improved resuming and loading speed, along with push notification delivery.
Viber for Windows Phone features support for secondary devices and call transfer, abilities that were introduced in a previous update. It also supports Live Tiles, lock screen notifications and the option to pin conversations to home screen.
The application has already been localized to many languages, such as: Arabic, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (BR), Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Tagalog, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese.
