I'll ask you this: what if you were a well-known TV personality and successful music producer, and one day, someone would come to you and ask you to front a campaign advertising an equally famous erectile dysfunction drug like, say, Viagra? Would you see that as a joke, a tempting offer to be taken seriously or simply a pointless offense? I'm directing this question primarily at you, guys, since I know the ladies aren't as much involved in this as you are. I for one would probably imagine that it's not such a bad thing, particularly since the offer comes with a hefty price tag. But I suppose for some men, it may be seen as a question mark added next to their virility, which I take it is not a nice thing at all.
The British mega music mogul and acid tongue "American Idol" and "X Factor" judge Simon Cowell was made such an offer, and to be honest, I don't think his over-sensitive ego was very flattered. He probably doesn't want to be seen as a man who needs extra help in the bedroom, particularly since he likes to cultivate an image of "ultimate macho" among the rich and the famous out there. "My agent rang me and said "You've been offered an incredibly big [£1million] deal. It's to be the face of Viagra." 'And I just said "Sorry, but that has to be a f****** insult"", he recounts. Well, I don't know about you but I certainly see the point of such an offer. I'm sure Cowell is an inspiration to most men out there, especially when it comes to his famed half-inspirational, half rude lectures regarding... ahem, one's natural abilities.
In the end, Simon Cowell should probably enter into a battle of the egos with Kanye West. I'm sure they'd end up kicking one another, which should at least be fun to watch. And while he may dispise Viagra, he's definitely got nothing against cosmetically retiuching his face once in a while. "To me, Botox is no more unusual than toothpaste. I'd never dye my hair, although I know everyone thinks I do", he admits. He also admits to wearing platform shoes to boost his stature. "They're an inch high, maybe", Cowell stated in a recent interview with Glamor magazine. Not much I can say after this. What do you guys think?
