The Swedish manufacturer made it with mechanical switches and programmable buttons

Now that December is finally here, makers of gaming hardware are showing off their latest inventions more or less en masse, and Mionix, a Swedish manufacturer of such things, is not staying out of things.

The company has constructed its latest high-end gaming accessory, the NAOS 7000 high performance optical gaming mouse.

It is powered by a 32-bit ARM processor, or rather an ADNS-3310 gaming grade optical sensor backed by the ARM chip for extra features.

"With our constant focus on performance, customization and comfort the new NAOS 7000 is the best ergonomic gaming mouse on the market." says Peter Nygren, CEO at Mionix.

The NAOS 7000 is a right-handed gaming mouse with a fully customizable lighting system. You can choose an RGB combination out of 16.8 million colors. There exist two distinct lighting zones too.

Normally, mice only give two or three of your fingers something to do, but here Mionix chose to provide 5-finger support.

That's why there are seven fully programmable buttons available, and why the palm grip is wider, with a ridge on the right for the two fingers that usually get neglected.

Truth be told, the design isn't as "unique" as Mionix says, since we've seen other mice with five-finger design, but Mionix did put its own touch on it, so we'll leave it be.

Moving on, the ADNS-3310 gaming grade optical sensor has a maximum speed of ≥5.45m/sec (≥215 IPS), all the way to 7000 DPI.

Furthermore, the S.Q.A.T (Surface Quality Analyzer Tool) is included, measuring the data loss between the sensor and gaming surface, telling you which to pick.

As for the actual material that the mouse is made of, it's mostly plastic but with 4 layers of a soft touch rubber coating.

The Mionix NAOS 7000 should be up for pre-order, but won't ship until later this month, for the price of $79.99 / €79.99 / £69.99 / 699 SEK.
