Microsoft has recently announced the second-generation Surface tablet, so the company is already discussing with partners across the world plans to bring the device closer to users.

Digitimes is reporting that many Taiwanese retails have started an aggressive discount campaign in an attempt to clear out inventories of the existing model, even though Microsoft has already confirmed that the two generations will be sold together for a few more months.

According to the report, a Surface RT could be sold for around $330 (€250) in Taiwan, while others are only offering discounts for the available accessories.

Microsoft is yet to announce a global discount campaign for the first model, but given the fact that the company is now aggressively promoting the second-generation tablet, expect more news on this to surface anytime soon.
