Only 8 Cobra phones will be available

Last time we heard anything about Vertu, they had released two more phones to complete the Racetrack Legend series. As usual, when talking about Vertu, only 1000 phones were available, which means that not many people are generally able to purchase a Vertu phone.

Even those who want such a phone and have the money to actually buy one would find it difficult because only the first 1000 people would be able to actually take one home with them. But it seems that the availability of only 1000 phones from each edition is not really exclusive enough and Vertu is apparently targeting those really exclusivity-thirsty people out there with the new Vertu Signature Cobra and Python phones they have recently unveiled in India.

French Jewelery house Boucheron is responsible for the design of the phone, that features ornate jeweled snakes, and gives you a choice between a diamond-studded cobra or a python.

The $310,000 Cobra features one pear-cut diamond, one round white diamond, two emerald eyes and 439 rubies, while its Python brother comes without the rubies in order to be somewhat more affordable, at only $115,000.

When talking about Vertu phones, the features they bring are really not important, the good-looks and the price of the phone are. And, while assuming that money is not a problem for Vertu's usual customers, they will have a hard time getting themselves one of these shiny golden phones anyway, because Vertu has plans for manufacturing only 26 Signature Pythons and 8 Signature Cobras. So, tough luck for the ones that don't make it into the first 8.
