Vertu has just announced its first luxury phones to feature a touchscreen display, the Constellation and Constellation Precious.

We already reported about the phone's specs sheet, as the handset was spotted two weeks ago at Bluetooth SIG.

Nokia's luxury phone brand Vertu offers potential customers four different version of the Constellation: a Satin Stainless Steel model with sapphire screen and brown leather; a Polished Stainless Steel model with sapphire screen and pink leather, a Polished Stainless Steel model with sapphire screen and black leather, as well as a Polished Stainless Steel model with sapphire screen and black alligator skin.

However, its more expensive brother, Vertu Constellation Precious comes in three versions: a Polished Stainless Steel model with sapphire screen, diamond trim and black alligator skin; a Polished Stainless Steel with sapphire screen, diamond trim and white alligator skin, as well as a Black PVD Stainless Steel model with sapphire screen, red gold trim and black leather.

Vertu has yet to announce any price options for the Constellation series phones, but it's likely the phones will go for at least 3,000 EUR (about $4,150).

As we reported the phones support dual mode WCDMA penta-band 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100 MHz and GSM quad-band 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 networks.

Each phone comes with a brilliant 3.5-inch nHD AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with 16 million colors support and 360 x 640 pixels resolution.

Furthermore, the smartphones boast an 8-megapixel EDOF (Extended Depth Of Focus) camera with dual LED flash and Heptagon lens.

It also pack 32GB of internal memory, and possibly microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), but this has yet to be determined.

We haven't received any confirmation yet, but both Vertu Constellation phones may run a customized version of Symbian operating system with automatic location aware dual-time zone clock with City Briefs.

In addition, users of the phones will be provided with access to Vertu dedicated services, including Vertu Concierge Live, Vertu Select, Vertu City Brief, Vertu Club Access and Vertu.Me.
