Luxury phones manufacturer Vertu has just introduced another of its expensive handsets, this time in collaboration with Ferrari.. The manufacturer stated the Ascent Ferrari GT will be produced in limited quantities, as only 2011 units will make their way on the shelves.

Known for its finest materials and ultra-expensive devices, British handset manufacturer Vertu has collaborated with Ferrari for the second time, to offer its customers an exquisitely built device.

Inspired by the famous Italian cars manufacturer, the Vertu Ascent Ferrari GT is built from forged titanium with a matte black PVD finish.

“Right from the beginning, the Vertu Ascent was inspired by cars. I wanted Ascent to be influenced by power, by energy, by the precision of a beautiful engine,” said Frank Nuovo, Vertu Principal Designer.

Vertu Ascent Ferrari GT measures 118 x 45 x 18mm and weighs 187g (battery included). Even though it might seem a little heavy, this has become usual for Vertu who only uses durable materials.

The handset comes with a rather small 2-inch QVGA display with 16 million colors, which is protected by sapphire crystal glass. It boasts a 5-megapixel camera with integrated LED flash and video recording capabilities, as well as high-performance dual hands-free loudspeaker.

The Ascent Ferrari GT comes bundled with exclusive apps and services such as: Vertu Feeds, Vertu Select exclusive content, City Brief Guides, Vertu Fortress secure back up service, Worldmate Travel Application and Chronograph stopwatch.

The integrated web browser with accelerometer helps users to quickly turn from portrait to landscape viewing.

Other key features of the feature-phone include: auto dual-time zone clock, Audio/Video player, Torch function, 32GB of internal memory, built-in A-GPS navigation with preloaded maps, as well as quadband WCDMA and GSM for worldwide coverage. There's no official information regarding the Ascent Ferrari GT’s price tag yet.
