Publisher Square Enix has announced that it will be holding an event on January 18 in Tokyo, named the Square Enix 1st Production Department Premier, which will deliver a lot of information on two of the games that fans of the company are interested in, Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII.

The event was initially just called the Fabula Nova Crystallis press conference, hinting at the general news that would be talked about, and was set to take place before January 15.

Speaking to a Japanese gaming magazine, Tetsuya Nomura, who is the director working on the Agito game, has said that Square Enix has delayed the event in order to have a better match with some exclusive content which will be published at the same time, probably a preview, by magazines.

The event is open to all fans and 10,000 people that have signed up to the Square Enix Members service will be able to also stream footage from the event.

The publisher has already said that no demos of Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII will be delivered, but that video footage will be shown.

Apparently Noctis, the main character from Versus, will be seen speaking for the first time since the game was announced, which is a big milestone for the game.

But the event will not be dominated by Final Fantasy and its side projects as Square Enix has also confirmed the presence of Dissidia 012, Kingdom Hearts 3DS and Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep: Final Mix.

With Final Fantasy XIII arriving on Western markets in March of 2010 and even earlier in Japan, Square Enix needs to deliver some new content to those interested in its main Japanese role-playing game franchise, with even more pressure now building up after the relative failure of the PC launch of the MMO Final Fantasy XIV.
