14 DAY TRIAL // Intego has updated its flagship antivirus software for Mac, VirusBarrier X6. Now at verison 10.6.7, VirusBarrier X6 features an enhanced real-time scanner, adds an archive scanning feature, and the ability to effectively scan iPhones, iPod touches and iPads for malware.
“Intego has released an update to its VirusBarrier X6 security program,” the company announced on its blog. “The latest version, 10.6.7, provides performance enhancements for the program’s real-time scanner, archive scanning feature, and iPhone, iPod touch and iPad scanning. This free update is 24 MB, and users can download and install the new version using NetUpdate, Intego’s global update program.”
VirusBarrier X6 is known to be the only antivirus program for Mac that includes full anti-malware protection alongside firewall, network protection, anti-phishing, anti-spyware functions and others. “VirusBarrier X6, the latest version of Intego's network and malware security program, includes more than 100 new features,” the makers explain, referring to the latest major upgrade (from X5 to X6). With multiple threat-detection techniques, improved methods of detection, combined detection protocols, proactive behavioral analysis, and a full range of defensive functions, VirusBarrier X6 protects Macs from all known network-based threats, as well as all known malware,” Intego notes.
