One type uses the normal 3.5mm jack, the other gets USB

Elecom may never ship them outside of its home market, Japan, but just in case it does, here are the HS-HP20 and HS-HP20U gaming headphone series.

The former is the “normal” one, with a 3.5mm jack that makes it compatible with almost every audio product and PC out there. It is colored black, blue, red or white.

The latter, also in those four colors, uses a USB connector, which makes it an interesting curiosity.

Other than that, the audio series are more or less identical, with 40 mm stereo drivers, maximum input of 100 mW, a frequency response of 20 to 20,000 Hz and an impedance of 32 ohm.

Needless to say, each headset has a microphone as well (poly-directional pickup), with 2.2-ohm impedance, 100 to 10,000 Hz frequency response and a hinged flexible arm.

As for the “foldable” part, the products have three joints that allow them to become compact enough for traveling light.

With shipments programmed for mid-November, the HS-HP20 will be priced at 2,940 JPY (US $37.3 / 28.6 Euro) and the HS-HP20U will sell for 3,360 JPY (US $42.6 / 32.63 Euro).
