The device might come a little too late with the carrier

According to the latest news on the Web, Verizon Wireless might finally get ready to release the HTC Touch Diamond on its airwaves. The carrier's users could see the Touch Diamond XV6950 available for them in a few weeks, and we learn that the new model is somehow different from the one available on Sprint.

The mobile phone operator has been expected for quite a while now to make the HTC Touch Diamond available on its network, and it seems that next month might mark this launch. Some say that the XV6950 could feature the same specs as the Sprint variant does, although the handset was expected to actually come with all sorts of different things.

For the time being, there is no exact information on what the device will look like, but, if it is to sport most of the features the Sprint model does, then we should expect to see it running under Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system, come with the TouchFLO 3D user interface and include a display able to provide a 640x480 resolution. At the same time, the Sprint variant also includes the Opera browser and a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper.

phoneArena says that the device is not to come this month, as the current Verizon Rebate Form will expire on March 28, and the Touch Diamond XV6950 is not listed with the other devices, so it should be released after that date. For what it's worth, Verizon might be a little too late with the launch of Touch Diamond. Sprint has the device for about half a year now, while Verizon seems to have the handset coming with 128MB of RAM and 256MB of ROM, so things might not look too good for the carrier at the moment. Hopefully, there will be more info available in a short while, especially if Verizon is readying the launch of the phone.
