Galaxy Nexus, the latest Google phone and the first smartphone in the world to arrive on shelves with the new Ice Cream Sandwich OS on board, might become available for purchase in the United States at wireless carrier Verizon sometime around Black Friday.

Some of the latest rumors on the web suggest that the handset might be released on Verizon's airwaves either just before that day, which is November 25th this year, or soon after it.

The guys over at Droid-life came up with what appears to be leaked documents from the wireless carrier, which suggests that the Galaxy Nexus might actually become available for purchase at Verizon after the Black Friday.

The said document also shows that Verizon plans on focusing on the marketing of two other Android-based high-end devices, namely the Motorola RAZR and the yet-unannounced HTC Rezound.

Other rumors on the landing of Galaxy Nexus at Verizon also suggested that the Black Friday would be the time frame we should be looking for, and it seems that things are lining up in this direction.

The new Google phone will be available on shelves in the UK on November 17th, and Verizon was said to plan on releasing the phone one week after that.

Some suggest that Verizon might actually aim at releasing the Galaxy Nexus just before November 25th, though we find it hard to believe that the carrier will have it available on any sort of deal on that day.

For the time being, however, nothing was officially announced on the matter, and we'll have to wait for an announcement to be made before marking a date in our calendars.

The Ice Cream Sandwich-powered mobile phone will bring along a nice range of highly appealing features and capabilities, including a large 4.65'' screen, a fast 1.2GHz application processor, or a photo snapper capable of full HD video recording capabilities.
