It appears that new, high-end devices are set to land on shelves in various markets around the world, not only in the UK, where we might see a Nexus Two device made available soon. Verizon Wireless in the United States is rumored to plan the launch of a new DROID handset on its airwaves, a DROID Incredible

HD, to be more precise.

Rumors on the possible emergence of this device started to emerged a while ago, when a leaked Verizon roadmap surfaced on the Internet, and came to light once again, more powerful.

The guys over at BGR brought to the Web some photos of what is said to be the next HTC device that would land at Verizon, and also unveiled a series of highly appealing specifications on this handset.

What we're looking at includes a phone similar in size with the HTC EVO 4G, and which also includes “a larger and more polished Nexus One body.”

According to the news site's source, the DRIOD 2 looks like a toy when compared to this device.

Other possible specifications of this mobile phone would also include a 4.3-inch touchscreen display, an 8-megapixel camera with dual LED flash, kickstand, 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a front facing camera for video calls.

In short, most of the specs this HTC device is said to include are similar with those packed with the recently unveiled HTC Desire HD, suggesting that the Verizon-bound phone would be similar with it in many respects.

Speculation arose on the possibility that Verizon would have the phone called DROID Incredible HD, as it would be the successor of this device.

It's not unusual for HTC to call its smartphones this way, and two other Android-based devices from the company sport the HD part in their names, including the Desire HD and the MyTouch HD, also known as MyTouch 4G.

Of course, the upcoming availability of this device on Verizon Wireless' airwaves is only a rumor for the time being, but chances are that it would prove real in the near future, so keep an eye on this space for more.
