Verizon Wireless, the largest CDMA carrier in the United States, might launch its first Windows Phone 7 devices sometime in March, if the latest reports on the matter are to be believed.

The mobile phone carrier was long rumored to plan the release of Windows Phone 7 on the HTC 7 Trophy smartphone, but nothing was made official on this for the time being.

However, it seems that the wireless services provider might be set to make the official announcement on this on February 28th.

Moreover, the actual smartphone is expected to hit the shelves in March, but specific details on the phone's release are not available for the time being.

Windows Phone 7 devices are already available for purchase in the United States, but only via GSM carriers.

CDMA operators, including Sprint and Verizon would make their first such handsets available soon, with Sprint already announcing its plans on the matter.

The wireless carrier unveiled earlier this week plans to add the Windows Phone 7-based HTC Arrive to its offering on March 20th, priced at $199.99 on contract. The phone is already available for pre-order.

Apparently, both this device and Verizon's HTC 7 Trophy would land on shelves with the first Windows Phone 7 update already installed, namely the so-called NoDo.

The HTC 7 Trophy should be released on Verizon's CDMA network with the same $199.99 contract price tag attached to it.

The smartphone would arrive on shelves in late March, rumor has it, which is in line with the CDMA Windows Phone 7 release estimate Microsoft made last year.

As stated above, nothing was officially confirmed on HTC 7 Trophy's arrival for the time being, but, since Sprint already made the move, it should not be too long before Verizon takes the first step in this direction as well, so stay tuned to learn more on this.
