Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is known to plan the launch of the newly unveiled BlackBerry Storm2, a device that should bring a whole new level of user experience when compared to the previously released Storm, and it seems that some of the capabilities of the device might not have been observed before.

One of them, which the carrier seems determined to stress, includes sharing 3G Internet over WiFi and is usually known as MiFi capability. In case the new device will indeed sport such features, it would mean that Research In Motion managed to pack its second touchscreen device not only with Wi-Fi connectivity, but also with the possibility to share it with other devices.

A leaked snapshot of an internal document from Verizon is the one that hints at MiFi capabilities for the second Storm, and one can also see there mentions about the BOGA (Buy One Get Another) promotion from the carrier, which should include the yet unreleased device. Moreover, the doc also shows that all promotional materials will have to be displayed in retail locations on October 20, which can only suggest that October 21 will be the launch day for Storm2.

However, we should also mention that CrackBerry caught in the wild a “Verizon Intranet BlackBerry Storm2 blog post” that also showed October 21 as the release date for the device, and which has been pulled off since. This does not mean that Verizon won't launch the touchscreen device anymore, but that it might have delayed the release a little bit.

According to the news site, the delay might have been caused by some issues with the technical acceptance process, this also being the reason for which Verizon didn't announce the BlackBerry Storm the same day RIM and Vodafone did. Even so, the launch is expected to occur in the near future, so stay tuned to learn when Big Red will announce / release the second touchscreen handset from RIM.

Purchased a iphone this moth from AT&T and had to return it 2 weeks later. The phone is great! Does everything a small PC should but when it came to the phone, it dropped calls. The iphone would not work in buildings or my house.
I am waiting for the Storm2 and Android phones to see if they are better as a phone.

Before any buys a iphone make sure the GSM 1900 will work for you. AT&T claims that they are working on GSM 850, this will help inside of buildings, but I don't see a fix anytime soon.
