Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless has made official plans to add a new tablet PC coming from Samsung to its offering, the Galaxy Tab 7.7.

As of March 1st, 2012, Verizon customers will be able to take advantage of the capabilities of this device on the wireless carrier’s 4G LTE network.

With a Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen display and a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor inside (along with HTML 5 Web browser), the new device will deliver a great experience to all users.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 is set to become available for purchase via all Verizon Wireless Communications Stores, as well as online, and will feature a price tag of $499.99 with the signing of a two-year customer agreement.

To acquire the new device, users will need “to subscribe to a 4G LTE mobile broadband data package starting at $30 monthly access for 2 GB of data,” Verizon explains.

The specs list of this tablet PC includes a 7.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus display (1280x800), along with 16 GB on-board storage, and a microSD memory card slot for adding more space into the mix (supports up to 32GB).

At the same time, the new slate features a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with LED flash and support for 720p recording (and 1080p playback, through HDMI dock or adapter). It sports a 2MP camera on the front, great for video calling.

“The Tab 7.7 is a multimedia expert allowing customers to use their tablet as the center of their home entertainment system. The Peel Smart Remote feature eliminates the need for multiple remote controls for televisions, audio players and other home entertainment systems,” Verizon notes.

“Customers can make their Tab 7.7 the master controller to find and watch their favorite TV shows, create a favorites list, set program reminders and more.

“Customers also have the ability to stream media to their compatible TV using the HDMI Multimedia Dock with a built-in HDMI port or the HDTV Adapter (sold separately). The Samsung Media Hub offers a large selection of media to rent or purchase and watch while traveling or plug into a TV to share at a party.”

Running under Android 3.2 Honeycomb, the new tablet PC arrives on shelves at Verizon with support for various Google Mobile Services, including Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk with video chat, Google Search, Google Maps, and access to Google Books, movie rentals and more than 400,000 apps on Android Market.
