Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is reportedly gearing up for the release of a new iPhone model, and is said to be trying to get rid of old inventory.

Some of the latest reports on the matter suggest that the company will soon put in place a series of discounted offers for various accessory bundles for the iPhone 4, something that would point at an attempt to clear out inventory.

Moreover, rumors on iPhone 4 being set to soon reach its end-of-life at Big Red also emerged, though they might refer only to it being no longer the prime Apple-phone in the carrier's offering.

These two put together would clearly show that the wireless carrier is set to make some changes in the near future, although nothing has been announced on the matter until now.

However, some of the previous rumors on Apple suggested that the company might be set to make a new iPhone model available for purchase later this fall.

Set for an August or September release, the new model would be called either the iPhone 4S or iPhone 5.

It was also tipped to be the first device from Apple to arrive at all major wireless carriers in the United States. Sprint and T-Mobile have been long waited for the device, and their customers might soon be satisfied.

Apparently, Apple has finally decided to enter the 'world connectivity' game, and the new device will include support for global wireless radios.

Some also suggest that the next iPhone might arrive on shelves with support for 4G networks, and that it would debut along with AT&T's upcoming LTE airwaves.

However, there are also those who claim that Apple is actually considering the release of two new iPhone flavors, one to arrive this fall, the 4S, and another one for early 2012, the iPhone 5. Only the latter might be a 4G-capable world phone.
