Through the deployment of two new cell sites

Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless announced on Thursday that it made new network enhancements in the Rockland County area. According to the company, its 3G network has just got expanded, through the deployment of two new cell sites, which are expected to deliver improved coverage, as well as better voice calling, text messaging, not to mention faster Internet connectivity to its wireless subscribers.

Big Red also notes that “the new cell sites improve network coverage and/or expand Mobile Broadband services in the following areas: - Pearl River: Along Route 304 from North Pearl Street to Bauvelt Road and on Middletown Road between East Crooked Hill Road and Church Street. - Spring Valley: On Nyack Turnpike from Cherry Lane to Saddle River Road and along the New York State Thruway.

The new network enhancements, which are part of Verizon's plan to improve its airwaves all around the United States, should offer its subscribers in the Rockland County, New York the possibility to enjoy better services. The sending and receiving of e-mail and text, picture and video messages will be greatly improved, and the same applies to the watching of high-quality videos and to accessing VZ Navigator, coupled with enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.

At the same time, the carrier also notes that its network has been built so as to offer reliable services even in cases of emergencies. Verizon is committed to enhancing its network all around the country, and says that it has invested $123 million in improvements of its airwaves in the metro New York and New Jersey area. Moreover, these investments are aimed at enabling the operator meet the increasing demand for data services over its network.

“We’ve always believed even the most advanced cell phone is only as good as the network it runs on,“ said Pat Devlin, regional president. “Our 3G high-speed Mobile Broadband network is the largest and most reliable in the United States and we expect to commercially launch our Long Term Evolution (LTE) fourth generation network in up to 30 markets in 2010.”
