Mobile phone users in the United States interested in the purchase of a Moto X smartphone can now grab it through the official MotoMaker website at only $49.99 (€36.6) with the signing of a two-year contract with Verizon Wireless.

As Droid-life notes, the price tag appears to be available only for the Verizon version of the smartphone, as the device is priced at $99.99 (€73.2) on contract at other operators.

Previously, only the black and white woven versions of the mobile phone were available for purchase through Verizon’s website at the same discounted price tag, and they remain the same, it seems.

Those who would rather grab the device without committing to a contract agreement with the wireless carrier will be able to do so as well, only that they’ll have to pay $399 (€293) for it.

All in all, buying a Moto X on or without contract might seem like a great option to many, especially considering the large number of customization options available for it.

Specs-wise, the handset might not be as impressive as other flagship smartphones out there, but it will do its job quite well, that’s for sure.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Motorola launched the Moto X with a 4.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen display that can deliver a 720p resolution.

The device also features a 1.7GHz dual-core processor (as part of the Motorola X8 Mobile Computing System), along with 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory (a 32GB version is also available for purchase).

The smartphone comes with a 10-megapixel camera on the back, with support for full HD video recording, as well as with a front camera for making video calls.

Motorola launched the Moto X with the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean platform loaded on top, but has already started to update it to the Android 4.4 KitKat platform.
