With Galaxy Nexus already available for purchase, Verizon is looking forth for the release of new handsets that would offer great data speeds on its 4G LTE network, and LG Spectrum might be one of these. The handset was spotted into the wild before, said to be the second generation LG Revolution, though specific details on it, along with a clear photo to show us what kind of a device it might be, haven’t been available before.

This time around, however, we can have a better look at the smartphone, while also being able to learn some more info on its specifications and capabilities, courtesy of Pocketnow.

The successor of this year’s LG Revolution should hit the market with a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S3 application processor inside, a dual-core chip, of course, while running under Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. The smartphone packs a large 4.5-inch IPS LCD touchscreen display on the front, capable of delivering a 1280x720 pixels resolution.

Moreover, LG packed 1GB of RAM inside it, for increased performance capabilities, along with 4GB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space (a 16GB card included from the beginning).

On the back, the new device sports an 8-megapixel photo snapper with support for 1080p video recording, complemented by a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling.

When it comes to connectivity, the new device has to offer support for LTE, along with Wi-Fi b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0, as well as Mobile Hotspot features, with support for a number of up to 10 Wi-Fi devices. HDMI, DLNA and Wi-Fi Direct were packed with this device as well.

Other specifications of the new mobile phone include a 1830mAh battery, and a thickness of only 10.6 millimeters. The handset is said to be able to handle simultaneous voice and LTE data connections.

One thing that is certain is that the new device resembles a lot with some other LTE-capable smartphones that LG launched recently, such as the Nitro HD over at AT&T, or the international LG Optimus LTE.

No specific info on when the new device might land on shelves has emerged so far, but rumor has it that it will arrive before the Mobile World Congress kicks off in Barcelona in February next year.
